Jersey Airport's new ATC Contingency Facility

20-Jan-2016

Ports of Jersey Limited has awarded Systems Interface the delivery phase of Jersey Airport’s new Air Traffic Control contingency facility under its ‘Technology Partner Framework Agreement’. Having completed the design phase, Systems Interface will deliver this turnkey project, including transition into operational service, during 2016.

Jersey Airport’s Business Continuity Plan required a resilient operational capability to cover such events as the loss of the existing ATC Building or facilities. In such an emergency the new ATC contingency facility will allow the Air Traffic Control services to continue with minimal interruption from within a building close to the airport.

Systems Interface has been involved since the project’s inception, from providing system design through to managing the equipment procurement process; jointly evaluating multiple tenders for all the necessary equipment with Jersey Airport’s management team; and awarding the contracts to the various equipment manufacturers from around the world.
