Third Mauritius Project Completed

Systems Interface has completed the supply, installation and commissioning of a Non-Directional Beacon (NDB), Markers and Ancillary Works for the Department of Civil Aviation in Mauritius.

This was the third contract completed by the company. Previous projects saw the installation of an ILS system and a high power NDB at SSR International Airport.

The contract consisted of supply and installation of an NDB system at Flic-en-Flac airport, a Fan Marker at Blue Bay, and a Z Marker at Bigara. The project commenced in October and was completed on time for the Annual Flight Check in early December. Together with theory and practical training, Systems Interface carried out pre-installation civil works, and installation and commissioning of the following equipment:

  • Nautel VR250 Vector Dual Solid State250W NDB Transmitter together with Antenna Tuning Unit, surge protection unit, remote beacon monitor alarm receiver
  • Systems Interface self-design self-supporting 16m Lattice Mast with earthing system and obstacle light
  • Park Air Systems Normarc Marker Beacons
