Kingdom of Bahrain Consultancy Contract

31-Jul-2014

Systems Interface, based in the UK, has been awarded a consultancy services contract by the Ministry of Housing of the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain for the relocation of the Civil Aviation Authority’s receiver and transmitter station at East Hidd.

Systems Interface will act as the Consultant to the Ministry of Housing and be responsible for the feasibility study, system design for the new transmitter and receiver stations, full safety case approval, pre-contract management of the equipment tendering process and post contract consultancy services during the delivery phase through to final operational acceptance.

The relocation is required to make way for a new housing development on the existing site and to improve the quality of the communications. Therefore, the transmitter units will be located at a new location outside the airport, while the receiver unit will be relocated within the airport perimeter.

The existing receiver and transmitter station at East Hidd provides the majority of Bahrain Air Traffic Control’s ground to air communications extending in some cases to 200+ miles.
The existing facility will not be decommissioned until the new facilities are fully tested and commissioned.
